Earlier this year I bought a used Bridgestone 600 (1984 or thereabouts) to ease into skinny tire, multi-gear, drop bar cycling; I wanted something to wrench on.
I’ve spent the past few months and a couple hundred dollars cleaning and generally reviving the bike to a rideable and passably “original” condition.
My personality being what it is, I find myself wondering if I should forget authenticity and completely update the bike (700c wheels, new brake system, new drive train, powder coat, etc) or if I should just leave it as is, replacing bits as they break.
